Yep, the Apple TV is now officially available in the Philippines. Not “in stores” though. For now, it’s only officially available for retail online via the Philippine Apple store.
Price?
The 3rd gen Apple TV is going for just Php4,990, significantly cheaper than the ones being sold locally.
Just note the caveat with this Apple media player – unlike more popular media players out in the market today, this one doesn’t come with onboard storage. And no, you can’t attach an external HDD to it. This one’s purely a media streaming device. And at that price, you still need buy your own HDMI cable.
That said, if you’re into the whole iOS and Apple ecosystem, you can’t deny this pint-sized set-top box’s appeal. It’s the perfect device to reap the benefits of AirPlay, and if you’ve already invested in iTunes movies, it’s the best way to enjoy your movie collection on the big screen.
