App Store Rewind 2011: Instagram, Tiny Tower, Angry Birds, Facebook lead winners circle 
Apple has released their App Store Rewind 2011, and guess who won the top prize as the iPhone app of the year?
It’s none other than the Android-bound photo-sharing app Instagram.
iPhone Game of the Year, meanwhile, goes to Tiny Tower.
For the iPad, Snapseed, another photo app, was adjudged as the Best iPad app for 2011, while Deadspace for iPad is iPad Game of the Year.
What happened to the hugely popular Angry Birds, you ask?
It didn’t get any special award, but it did manage to snag the top-selling paid app spot for 2011. And get this, there are 3 Angry Birds games in the top 10 for paid apps – Angry Birds, Angry Birds Seasons, and Angry Birds Rio.
Facebook, for its part, is the top free app for 2011 in the App Store.
