We already know Apple cleared out their iPhone 5 pre-orders well before the units could hit store shelves, but what we didn’t knew back then was how many new iPhones were actually sold. Operative knew, ‘cause now we do.
In 24 hours, Apple took in 2 million iPhone 5 pre-orders. Do the math, that’s roughly 1,389 iPhone 5 pre-orders per minute. That’s double the record the iPhone 4S set last year. And yes, that’s still just in select countries. Wow!
If they keep this trend up for the next 100 days, they’ll easily surpass the record set by the Galaxy S III. That’s a very big IF though.
That said, it’s not exactly impossible, especially for Apple and the mighty iPhone. It’s just that the Android competition, lead by star player the Galaxy S III, has definitely stepped up their game.
And with that, care to do some betting while we wait for the results - who do you think will have the better sales record in 100 days – the Galaxy S III or the iPhone 5?

Easily, I predict that the iPhone 5 will have larger sales by a large margin. And the margin could have even got a bigger margin if their distribution is as fast as Sammy’s.
as what i’ve expected…now let’s see if the future galaxy s4 next year will beat the record…
