7-inch Android tablets are a dime-a-dozen right now, but if you prefer one from a trusted brand, here’s one you can keep tabs on – the Asus Memo Pad.
Yep, this one isn’t available yet, but it will be soon, February to be exact.
This new ‘droid tablet from Asus, just like the Nexus 7 they churned out for Google, doesn’t sport a rear-facing cam. But that’s where the similarities end.
The Memo Pad, unlike its Nexus relative, only runs on a 1Ghz Via processor (vs a 1.2GHz quad-core on the Nexus 7), sports a lower rated 1-megapixel cam (vs a 1.2MP cam) and lower resolution 1024×600 display (vs 1280×800).
On the upside, it does, however, come with a microSD card slot for additional and a price tag – $149, or roughly a little over Php6K – that sure makes it a tempting buy.
Of course, that price still doesn’t include local tax and other additional charges, but hey, with a low starting price to start from, I’m sure this one will still retail in the Philippines well below the Php10K price point.
