The Canon PowerShot S95’s successor is now available in local stores. The Canon PowerShot S100 was announced back in September of last year, and though it took its sweet time in getting here, we’re just glad it’s now finally here.
So, how much does it cost?
SRP of the Canon PowerShot S100 is Php28,998.
Pricey, yes, but is it excessively too expensive? Not really. It’s just a tad bit more expensive than the S95 when we reviewed it back in 2010. And we all know how the S95 sold like pancakes.
And given all the new goodies onboard the S100 – new CMOS sensor, Digic 5 processor, full 1080p HD video recording, higher optical zoom, built-in GPS – the extra asking price, I say, is justified and is quite reasonable, come to think of it.
So now, the question is, will you be getting one?
Me? As tempted as I am, its price, unfortunately, is a major issue for me. Though I’m sure I won’t regret buying it, it’s just way too expensive for me right now. Maybe once its price lowers to the Php20K mark, I’ll try to take a stab at it. Just not now.
How ‘bout you guys? Planning to get the S100 soon? What’s your budget for a digicam?
