Hong Kong based case maker Capdase has come out with a soft shell case for HTC’s flagship smartphone. Is the case as sensational as the device it was meant to cover up?
I love my HTC Sensation, but being the clumsy doofus that I am, I’ve already dropped it a few times which has caused a couple of dings and dents around the unit. Looking at the damage the drops has caused just makes me want to cry. Fortunately, Capdase has come out with the Xpose, a soft shell case that’s custom molded for the HTC Sensation.
The reason why I often drop the HTC Sensation is because the thing is just so damn slippery. While the curved, solid aluminum body of the Sensation looks mighty sexy, it’s really not conducive to good handling. Capdase’s Xpose case solves that problem by adding a thin layer of soft, rubberized material at the back of the Sensation that acts as a competent gripping surface. With the Xpose case on, my Sensation is substantially less slippery than before.
Unlike silicon cases, the surface of the Xpose case isn’t sticky enough that it’ll cause a problem with front pocket storage. With the case on, my Sensation slips easily in and out of my jean’s front pocket. The Xpose case also isn’t a dust/lint magnet unlike regular silicon cases.
Unfortunately for me, the Xpose isn’t idiot proof, and even though it has made my Sensation less slippery, I have clumsily knocked the phone off a few tables and chairs. This time however, the Xpose is sturdy enough to protect my HTC Sensation from scratches and dents.
Bottomline:
At Php 950, the Capdase Xpose case is a good investment. It offers good protection as well as making the HTC Sensation less slippery which is a good deterrence against accidental slips and drops. Oh, I almost forgot to mention it, but the Xpose case comes with a free screen protector. Talk about value for money!
