Who reigns supreme in the Android tablet scene?
Globally, we don’t know. But as far as the US goes, we do, or rather, comScore does.
According to their latest tally, there’s a clear winner as to which is the no. 1 Android tablet in the US, and no, it’s not from Samsung. In fact, all Samsung Galaxy Tab devices combined, it’s still no match to the current king of ‘droid tablets – the Amazon Kindle Fire.
Well, you shouldn’t be. Priced just right, this baby offered up decent specs sans the hefty price tag, making it an instant hit in the land of Uncle Sam, even if its other Android rivals were better spec-wise.
The Kindle Fire’s success also proves what we’ve been saying all along – you don’t need to have the best of everything to be a hit. Just look at the iPad! It obviously isn’t the best-specced tablet out now, and yet it’s still a runaway hit.
Maybe after seeing this report by comScore, tablet makers will now realize there’s really more than one way to sell a tablet.
