Confirmed: Galaxy Nexus ‘Volume Bug’ fix in the works

Here’s an update on the volume bug currently plaguing the Galaxy Nexus.

Android Police got this reply from Android PR when they asked about this particular issue:

We are aware of the volume issue and have developed a fix. We will update devices as soon as possible.

So it’s actually a software bug after all, and not a faulty hardware design. I guess this more or less rules out a Galaxy Nexus recall happening anytime soon.

With that question out of the way and a fix confirmed being developed right as we speak, the next big question now is, when will it be out?

For Google and Samsung’s sake, it’ll hopefully happen sooner than later. Shipments of the new Nexus phone have already been halted because of this controversial bug, and each passing day the Galaxy Nexus continues to be MIA from store shelves is a chance for other Android goodies to win the hearts of consumers aching for a new tech treat to have and to hold this holiday season.
