Crumpler’s ‘Bowling Bag’ Review

Crumpler, the famed Aussie company with the tough bags and funny names, usually comes up with elaborate, sturdily constructed bags, backpacks and luggage for various things, like your laptops or tablets, or toiletries, or bags for overnight stays or longer.

This time they’ve come up with a simple, everyday piece of carry-on luggage that they call the ‘Bowling Bag‘. Whether or not it really is for bowling is a matter for conjecture, but I guess it’ll do as well, although it is perfect for carrying clothes and everyday stuff around when going to the gym, or as an overnight carry-on bag.

It’s simply constructed, made with Crumpler’s usual tough canvas material. It comes in various colors; the ones given to me to review came in all-black, and one in all-gray with yellow accents in the strap and handles. It’s kind of moderate in size, perfect for everyday use.  There’s a long zipper across to seal it from the elements, hemmed with yellow canvas and, inside, there’s the usual darker gray lining. There are three inside pockets for your smaller stuff, and the middle pocket is closeable via velcro. There’s a strap that comes along with it, nice and simple and tucked in out of sight. And that’s basically it!

Of course, it comes with the assurance that Crumpler tested the hell out of the bag before letting it out into the urban wild, and you can rest easy that the bag will withstand the rigors of everyday travel.

Still, it kinda is unusual for Crumpler to come up with such a simple product, when it’s been known to design elaborate, specific-need bags and backpacks. But hey, we all need an everyday carry-on like the Crumpler Bowling Bag for our stuff, right?

DISLIKES
