Bluetooth is only useful to users who actually use it. It is safe to say that at least 80% of people who owns bluetooth-enabled devices do not actually use it and a big percentage of that 80% does not even know how to use bluetooth technology.
As for me, I use it to listen to music using my A2DP-capable Bluetooth stereo headphones BUT I do not use it to make/receive calls because I do not want to look like a self-important douchebag. And here’s a customary link to prove my point: http://bluetoothdouchebag.com/
Pretty useful, especially when driving. Though research says the amount of attention is not significantly different compared to using your phone normally — its the thought that both your hands can still be on the wheel gives a good sense of security.
I agree with the above post. They used to call it the BlueFool hahaha..
Does this work with the iPod Touch? Would be very helpful with Facetime hehehe..
Bluetooth headsets might not be for everyone but there are other gadgets that use it making life more convenient. I find bluetooth headsets and speakers useful taking calls while on the road. I also use bluetooth to tether from my iPhone to my iPad.
Bluetooth technology provides convenience and safety.
Convenience – Instead of the need to plug in wires to your device, you just need to pair your BT peripheral and you’re good to go. It will also get rid of the messy and sometimes unsightly wires.
Safety – Using a BT headset while driving will free up your hands and you won’t get tangled up with the wires that come with a normal headset.
hey antonboq! yes, the Hisense HB200S works on the iPod Touch
Bluetooth has developed to be useful in the market. It was first launched as a mainly a way of connecting a headset to a mobile phone. Right now, the technology has expanded my linking not only calls but also videos and music to a compatible equipment. Be it at home with a bluetooth capable speakers, bluetooth printers or on the road while in the car with a bluetooth capable stereo….
I think using Bluetooth for calls is actually safer for a commuter in the Philippines because you won’t have to take out your phone. Also, the absence of wires makes it more convenient, especially for the tight spaces of jeeps and MRT. With the unlimited call schemes of the different carriers, I find myself making more calls instead of texting, and I am actually looking towards getting a Bluetooth earpiece. PS. Good thing douchebaggery is not yet that prevalent here.
i’d say bluetooth technology is very much useful today. i use it everyday since my bluetooth headset doubles up as my stereo earphones when i’m at the gym, listening to music or watching some videos of my phone. it also comes in handy when you need to transfer files between 2 mobile device instead of hooking/loading it up first on the PC. its practically a great technology that me and other people i know who multi tasks a lot in and out the office find really useful.
~look ma, no hands~ =D
I don’t think bluetooth headsets will work with FaceTime.
Very useful paired with an oversized smartphone like the Samsung Galaxy Tab. All the benefits of a tablet, with the functionality of a moble phone. Glass half full or half empty… depends how you look at it.
In our innovative society today, I can say that Bluetooth technology has really been useful for us especially for file sharing. It has been helping not only students, but also professionals in meeting the demands of their teachers and bosses, especially when there is an urgent need for a certain document or file. It is also used for wireless and hassle-free entertainment by the use of Bluetooth-enabled speakers and headphones. It lets us users enjoy our media, without worrying about tangled wires. These are only some of the uses of Bluetooth today, there are many other ways in which it that can help us do our tasks efficiently and effectively. Seeing that almost every gadget that is produced today is Bluetooth-enabled, I can say that it has already been a part of our life, and it is indeed very useful on a day to day basis.
Simply put, Bluetooth technology is as useful as the functions of our hands and as powerful as communication and connection. It enables the user to have full use of their hands in driving when using a bluetooth connected headset. It gives wireless connection to transmit data between devices and one can rely on it to get the job done. Bluetooth is convenience and dependability put together.
It’s great for transferring files wirelessly between devices and very useful for hands-free use of cellphones
As we all know that driving and using a cellphone on one hand is a no no, this is where your bluetooth earpiece comes in! Very useful indeed!
For a mom who’s got her hands full with a baby for most of the day, Bluetooth is like a gadget yaya to me! I can change diapers or feed the baby while talking to clients on the phone!
Not too useful for me. I’ve never used BT on my laptop or any other gadget. Although I did use to own a BT headset for my Palm Treo.
Very useful, especially when driving. It allows me to keep both hands on the wheel, assuring a safer drive. It’s also a convenient method for file sharing, especially when I transfer pictures taken from my phone to my laprop.
Well for me it is very useful, especially to people who drive. It’s more convenient taking/making phone calls while on the road.
bluetooth headsets are useful while in the car but while walking in a crowd makes you look a bit crazy.
on the other hand the technology has made it more convenient for its users to make file transfers and has made all sorts of other applications of this technology possible. such as wireless _____________ (fill in the blank)_____________ .
Bluetooth is great! I use it to sync all my mobile devices to my laptop, to connect my handsfree kit to my mobile phone, to surf the internet on my laptop and to transfer data among my portables. Nothing beats the ease and convenience of being connected without the messy tangle of wires, especially when you have a lot of devices that need connectivity all the same time.
Now if there was only a way to transmit power wirelessly…
I use bluetooth for sending file from my notebook to another BT device.
Yup, I find bluetooth to be a godsend for driving. But in general if it is available I like to use it compared to direct celphone. As generally I am not content with the sound quality of most handsets. So I figure for people who are a little bit ADHD like me. Bluetooth is the perfect solution.
-Bluetooth, based on my opinion and to how I see people use it, is useful in a way that it is one leap that takes away the hassle with wires and adds a “portability state” to different devices. This technology helps people who are always on the move whether they are making calls or listening to music, especially when they are doing something tedious or while driving. Bluetooth is also a means of sharing files from one device to another, making a connection with peers which doesn’t require internet services. Which is again, another step from infrared file transfers.
however, because this technology is new, only some can afford and use these and the devices that are capable of handling this type of technology.
Convenient when you’re on the run because all you need are your bluetooth-capable devices to transfer files. In our world today where everyone on the go, Bluetooth is the hassle-free answer!
bluetooth? wasn’t that like so 5 years ago?!
bluetooth makes it a cinch to pair your devices
A great option when you opt to get rid of wires.
Way great than headsets!
I use bluetooth when I have a call and I am driving!
Makes driving safe and hassle-free!
Gets rid of the messy wires!
When travelling(driving, commuting), it’s nice without the messy and annoying wires.
bluetooth helps me multi-task while on the phone, without worrying about tangled wires from the regular headsets. using a bluetooth headset would certainly decrease my High Blood mode if i wanted to lodge a complaint to my mobile telco’s CSR (i soooo hate having to follow those voice prompt asking me to “press” a lot of numbers before I can reach a CSR) hahaha
Bluetooth definitely makes my life easier and safer by using the technology to have a handsfree environment while in the Car. It also helps a lot in sharing any kind of data from images to music between devices.
It’s best for multitasking especially in organizing and coordinating with events. For practical and safety reasons, it’s better to use a Bluetooth when driving. =)
NO WIRES!
makes hands-free possible! esp when driving, walking, shopping, typing…
Use it only for mouse and trackpad… still looking for a BT headset for iPhone.
. .no need to hassle yourself with the wires connected to gadgets. . (^_^)
ideally, bluetooth makes gadgets and other gadgets’ connectivity a cinch. depending on the user, on a day to day basis, it can range from being an absolutely useful, cant-live-without-it technology to ‘well, i use it sometimes and its really convenient.’
at the end of the day, regardless who uses the technology, it makes connectivity easy and simple.
very useful because it’s wireless.
