If you think Tim Cook’s recent public apology and recommendation to try out other maps apps is all just lip service, think again. He’s serious, guys!

And to prove Apple won’t limit you to the default Maps app on iOS 6, they’ve made it easier for you to browse through the various maps apps available at the App Store by creating a special section for it.

Interestingly, this particular new section in the App Store can’t be found using the iPad. But don’t worry, iPad users, there’s still a way to easily find all the map apps in the App Store on your iOS 6-runnin’ tablet. Just tap on the More button at the top, look for and tap Navigation, and presto! All the glorious maps app available on iOS are now listed right before your eyes, and better, categorized to make app shopping easier for you.

As you can see in the screen cap, there’s an array of free navigation apps you can try out.

Thanks, but no thanks, Apple. My go to maps is still Google Maps.
