First Sony Xperia phone leaked: 1GHz dual-core Nyphon Gingerbread smartphone
Meet the first Xperia under the Sony label – the Nyphon. Thankfully, that’s just a code name, and yes, this is still just a rumor and far from being official.
If this baby looks all too familiar, that’s because it’s actually a splitting image of the slim and sexy Xperia Arc/Arc S. And just like its two Sony Ericsson Xperia predecessors, this one ‘s equipped with 1GB RAM and sports an 8-megapixel cam with an Exmor R sensor.
However, unlike its Arc look-alikes, the Sony Nyphon comes packed with a smaller 4-inch touchscreen, but ups the ante with a 1GHz dual-core processor with 16GB of ROM.
This’ll have Gingerbread as its OS on launch with Ice Cream Sandwich to follow.
It’s decent, but not impressive. This’ll prolly be more of a transition device to help users get accustomed to the new branding of the Xperia line under Sony sans Ericsson.
But hey, who knows, maybe they’ll decide upgrade its specs as the months go by. And if we’re lucky, maybe they’ll throw in Ice Cream Sandwich as well.
