Fujitsu Luce Solar Laptop: Green inside, Sexy outside

Too good to be true? Well, in a way, yes. This is actually just a concept so, no, you won’t be seeing this in-stores anytime soon.

Aptly named Luce, that’s Italian for light, this snazzy looking solar lappie designed by Andrea Ponti is one of the entries that made it to Fujitsu’s 2011 design contest LIFEBOOK category shortlist.

The Luce sports two solar panels – one at the back of its OLED display, and another underneath its touch-sensitive keyboard – is made of clear polycarbonate, and is literally a lightweight weighing roughly just 4 pounds.

Not sure though if the twin-solar panels is good enough to power a laptop, and more importantly for us consumers, if this will actually go into production.

But one thing we do know, if the green future looks this good, we’re excited for what lies ahead.

Before we can go solar, we need better battery technology. Wish the smart people out there would hurry up and discover something already ;)
