When Windows 8 drops later this year, don’t look for that multi-colored Windows logo anymore. Microsoft has revealed, they’re ditching the colorful Windows logo for a more modern, minimalistic one more aptly suited for their new OS.
And I couldn’t agree more that this perfectly reflects the new Metro theme they debuted on Windows Phone and will also be using on the soon-to-be-released Windows 8 operating system.

They actually came full-circle with this one as they used the very first Windows logo as inspiration for the new logo.

Sure, it may take a while – especially for those who grew up with the flag-like Windows logo – to get used to this new monotone Windows logo, but the rebranding will sure help Microsoft re-launch Windows as a completely new OS, detaching it from its somewhat troubled past.
Personally, I like it. It’s simplet yet fresh.
How ’bout you guys? Thumbs up or thumbs down for the new Windows logo?
