In the market for a top-of-the-line smartphone? HTC and Smart might just have made it a little bit harder for buyers like you to choose a new phone. Reason: they’ve just launched the Windows Phone 8X in the Philippines.
The 8X is powered by the 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm S4 processor. It boasts a 4.3-inch super Gorilla Glass 2 LCD and – this being a high-end HTC phone – a Beats Audio dedicated amplifier. As a matter of fact, HTC says that this is the only Windows Phone with Beats Audio.
The 8X has an 88-degree ultra-wide-angle front-facing camera that can take one picture of a whole group of people in one go, as well as 1080p video capture. Plus, of course, it rocks Windows Phone 8, which means that users can make good use of Xbox Live and the Windows Phone Store while out and about.
The 8X is available from Smart with the Unlidata Plan 2000, which gives subscribers access to Smart’s data network 24/7, and 200 free text messages and 150 free minutes of local calls as well.
While the 8X is available in four colors (California Blue, Graphite Black, Flame Red and Limelight Yellow) in other markets, the jauntier colors didn’t make it over here – we’ll only get it in California Blue and Graphite Black. (If it’s any consolation, the phone’s particularly fetching in California Blue and, whatever the color, it sits quite well in the hand.)
The Windows Phone 8X is now available, so if you’re interested in learning more about it and/or what Smart can offer you, head to the Smart homepage or visit any of the Smart Wireless Centers around the metropolis.
