That’s D-day for iOS 5.1 if what was discovered in Apple’s recently published new profiles for various iPhone operators proves to be true. The date was found in the profiles for Apple’s partner carriers in Japan, France, Greece, Finland, and Sweden.

If true, this could also be the date when Apple will launch the iPad 3. That is, if rumors are true that Apple will, in fact, have a simultaneous iPad 3 launch and iOS 5.1 release.

That’s a lot of ifs there.

But hey, at least we’ve now got a date to work with, and one that wasn’t drawn out from thin air.

And just to remind you jailbreak newbies out there, don’t be too trigger happy with the Software Update button once iOS 5.1 rolls out. Wait for the go signal from the iPhone Dev Team first. If you don’t, you’ll lose your jailbreak privileges, and if worse comes to worst, permanently.
