Ok, so you’ve finally upgraded to iOS 7, but why can’t your iPhone take that panoramic shot? And why isn’t Airdrop supported on your iPad?
Well, the answer to that, my dear friend, is – not all iOS 7 features are supported on all iOS devices that support iOS 7.
Now, as to which devices support which features, the easy answer is – if you’ve got the most recent iPhone (that’s the iPhone 5, for the record) and the 5th gen iPod touch (either the 16GB iPod touch or the 32GB/64GB iPod touch), you should be able to enjoy all the new treats iOS 7 has to offer.
But if you’ve got older iOS devices, it now all depends on what device you’ve got.
As for Panorama, this isn’t available on the iPhone 4, and all the iPad models.
Airdrop, meanwhile, isn’t supported on the iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPad 2, and 3rd gen iPad with Retina Display.
The table below, courtesy of The Apple Lounge, should simplify things for you, if the explanation above is a tad bit too complicated.
Haven’t upgraded yet?
You can upgrade over-the-air via WiFi preferably, or if you prefer the old school way, download your iOS 7 IPSW file for later installation.
But if the new look of iOS 7 is really an eye-sore for you and you’re more than happy with the current feature-set of iOS 6, feel free to pass on this one.
