Contrary to what we previously reported, it look slike the iPhone 5 won’t be launching side-by-side with the long rumored iPad mini.

But that doesn’t mean the iPad mini rumor is already a bust. There’s only just been a change in the launch sched. Instead of September, the smaller bro of the iPad will allegedly now debut in October, once the iPhone 5 is officially available in-stores.

They don’t have a specific date yet for the iPad mini, but they do have one for the iPhone 5 – September 16.

I’m feeling very iffy about this one, given the 16th is a Sunday and, if you’ve been keeping track of Apple events, it rarely happens on a weekend.

But hey, since we’ve got nothing else to work on, we’ll gladly take this bit of info rather than going away empty handed.
