Apple’s iPad mini has been an unqualified hit as far as sales are concerned, and it makes sense that the next generation of full-size iPads will take its design cues from the iPad mini. Several tech sites have reposted photos from French site Nowhere Else showing what seems to be the front face plate of a white iPad with thinner side bezels, just like the iPad mini.
For the first two years since the iPad’s release, new models were announced and made available in the March April period. That all changed last year, with the release of the iPad mini and the fourth generation iPad in October. Art’s noticed how quiet things have been on the Apple front, so it seems that the iPad refresh schedule has indeed been moved to the later part of the calendar year. If so, it makes sense that Apple is prepping to produce the new iPads over the next few months, and is probably testing manufacturing prototypes at around this time. Maybe it’s just me, but at this point I prefer the iPad mini’s design to the current iPad, and look forward to a design refresh along those lines.
