According to LG Singapore, there won’t be any ICS update for you LG Optimus 2X owners out there this quarter, contradicting the grand announcement they made in December that the Android 4.0 update for the Optimus 2X will beginning in rolling out in Q2. This was their surprising reply to an inquiry made over on their Facebook page.
So when’s the new due date of the ICS upgrade for the Optimus 2X?
Q3 of this year, they revealed.
But hey, they didn’t say it would be released in Q2. They just said it would begin. So we can’t really fault them on this one.
And I say possible because the bad news just came from LG Singapore. Who knows, LG Mobile global might just trump them on this one and decide to flip the switch on the ICS update for Optimus 2X earlier than Q3. Emphasis on might.
Whichever it’ll be – in Q2 or Q3 – the damage has been done already. A lot of Optimus 2X owners are already fed up with the delay.
All we’re hoping for right now, for LG’s sake, is that once the one for the Optimus 2X goes live, the ICS update for the remaining qualified LG ‘droids won’t be far behind.
