Wow! That sure was fast. It’s only been 7 months since the official unveiling of the Optimus Vu, and here comes LG with its successor already, the LG Optimus Vu II.
So what’s the diff with this new Vu and the old Vu?
It still pretty much looks the same, but under the hood, it comes packed with several new treats. Its RAM now stands at 2GB (vs 1GB on the original Optimus Vu), runs on a newer Qualcomm MSM8960 dual-core processor (speed’s still the same though at 1.5GHz), now sports an IR blaster, and just like the international release of the Optimus Vu, features Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich right from the get go.
It’s all good, but what’ll really sets this new Vu from the original one is its optional “One Key” accessory. With this nifty waterproof key ring, you can command the Optimus Vu II to beep out loud in case you can’t find it, and it also lights up to alert you of any incoming messages. Neat!
It’s still unclear, though, if the LG Optimus Vu II will be released here in the Philippines, but given its predecessor never officially landed in local stores, I’m feeling very iffy about the Vu II making its wat to the Philippines. But hey, we’ll see.
