I’ve already updated to OS X 10.8.2 and I love the Facebook integration.
But don’t let my appreciation for this particular new OS X treat fool you, it’s still far from perfect. Unlike on Android, OS X won’t merge the contact details of the ones you already have in your Contacts app with the ones that have identical names or info on Facebook. It treats it as separate contacts. As such, don’t be surprised to find multiple name entries in Contacts once you’ve integrated Facebook.
Also, Calendar/iCal is reporting the birthdays of some of my Facebook contacts now in Contacts erroneously. Majority of them are a day late, but when I checked their birthdays in the Contacts app, the listed birthday is correct. It’s a good thing, though, I’ve already subscribed to Facebook Birthday feeds, ‘cause if not, I’d probably be greeting most of them a day late. Anyone else having this problem?
Any other problems/bugs you’ve encountered in OS X 10.8.2? Feel free to share them below, and if you’ve found any fixes to address them.
