Multiply closing shop on May 6

That’s right kiddos. It’s the end of the line for the likes of Kimstore, DBgadgets and company. On Multiply, that is.

After shifting gears last year, placing more emphasis on e-commerce and giving the boot to social networking, Multiply is now calling it quits for good.

The short – and bitter news, for some – can be found on the home page of Multiply:

MULTIPLY WILL BE CLOSED AS OF 6 MAY 2013

We regret to announce that the Multiply marketplace will be closed as of May 6, 2013. We will use the rest of May to make sure that all accounts are settled and that our merchants receive full payment for all the transactions they completed on our platform. We thank our users for their loyal support and sincerely apologize for this sudden news.

Farewell, Multiply.

I’m sure you’ll be missed, though sorry, I’m just not one of those who’ll be shedding a tear for your (untimely?) demise.

Eh? What happened? I figured losing the social networking features and the user logins was a bad idea, but never figured on them closing shop this fast.

Just when I’ve discovered the beauty of multiply, they shut down. SIGH! No more free shipping.

    • I guess everyone moves over to… Sulit!
