It finally happened. An Android smartphone finally managed to reach critical mass and become popular enough for 3rd party accessory makers to take notice. Samsung has spent many millions in promoting their flagship Android phone, the Galaxy SIII, and it has paid off with numerous companies now investing in the Galaxy SIII brand by pumping out accessories for it. Musubo, an iPhone case maker, is one such company.
Musubo RubberBand

Very grippy and moderately thick, the Musubo RubberBand for the Galaxy SIII is an example of a simple and quality smartphone case. It offers a good amount of protection and has a non-slip texture that helps in preventing accidental drops. The Musubo RubberBand also has a built-in lanyard strap ring which is quite convenient for those who can’t go without hanging a few charms and doodads on their smartphone. The case itself doesn’t have a clear button cutout though so it can be confusing at first when pressing the power, volume and camera buttons. It did take a while for me to get used to guessing where to properly press on the case to adjust the volume, but the feel and look of the Musubo RubberBand really grew on me. Comes with a free screen protector and smartphone stand.
Musubo Retro

Similarly designed as the Musubo Elvis case for the iPhone 4S, the Musubo Retro for the Galaxy SIII offers the same level of protection and unique look. The Musubo Retro case is made up of two pieces: a plastic exoskeleton and a soft, silicon made interior. While the dual layer of plastic and silicon make for a somewhat thick case, it does offer a significant amount of protection that’s unmatched by simple snap on cases. All button and port holes are aligned perfectly. Personally, I like the Musubo Retro — it looks very cool and the additional protection it is more than enough to compensate for the additional bulk it produces. Out of the three Musubo Galaxy SIII case in this review, the Retro is definitely my favorite. The Musubo Retro comes with a free screen protector and smartphone stand.
Musubo Mummy

Looking very much like a criss cross of bandages, the Musubo Mummy Case for the Galaxy SIII lives up to its name by turning the back of the SIII into… sorta mummy looking. The Musubo Mummy is a snap on case that’s entirely made of TPU (a material that’s as tough as silicon but less sticky and more smooth) and it’s relatively thin when compared to the typical silicon made cases. The case is impeccably made as it fits perfectly with all of the buttons and port holes aligning perfectly with the whole case. With lots of colors to choose from, the Musubo Mummy is a solid accessory to protect the SIII from normal wear and tear. The Musubo Mummy comes with a free screen protector and smartphone stand.
Bottomline:
Affordable, smartly designed, offers proper protection and is reasonably priced. Musubo knows how to create good cases and it’s a boon to Samsung Galaxy SIII owners that Musubo has finally decided to dabble on the other side of the pond.
