Nike’s amping up the social side of its popular Nike+ Running app for iOS with two new features baked into the newly-released version 4.3.
The first feature, challenges, lets an ‘organizer’ select a target distance and invite fellow Running app users to a race. The first to reach said target distance wins, of course, and apparently gets a nice medal to show off to everyone else.
The second feature is an integrated chat feature that allows all those participating in a particular challenge to message (encourage/taunt) everyone else who’s also joined said challenge. Mind you, we don’t advocate taking your eyes off the road while running…
The Nike+ Running app is now available in the App Store for both iPhone and iPod touch.
