Nikon 1 series now Available in Philippine stores, Price starts at Php32K
Heads up, Nikon fan boys and girls! Nikon’s new 1 series offerings are now available in the Philippines.
The Nikon J1’s SRP is Php31,999. That price already includes a 10-30mm f/3.5-5.6 kit lens. You can take your pick from red, pink, silver, black, or my personal fave, white as the color of your preferred ultra-compact interchangeable lens Nikon cam. But based on my brief chat with a sales agent of the Nikon concept store at SM North EDSA Annex, it appears that only the black and white variants are ready for retail right now. The rest of the J1 pack have yet to arrive in Philippine stores.
The Nikon V1, meanwhile, is going for Php43,999. It’s bundled with the same kit lens as the J1 – 10-30mm f/3.5-5.6 – but is only available in either black or white. The V1’s bigger than the J1 mainly because of the included electronic viewfinder and accessory slot for attaching an external flash or GPS module.
Both feature a 10.1-megapixel CMOS sensor, a 3-inch LCD display, and can shoot full HD videos.
For a 10.1-megapixel cam, these two are definitely expensive, but let’s face it, products in this new segment of the compact digicam market are really known to be quite pricey. And being that this is a Nikon after all, it should be somewhat expected already.
More info on the Nikon 1 series can be found here.
So, you tempted to get one? They certainly look convenient to tote around, but the steep asking price is definitely a major turn-off.
