Nokia rolls out PR1.3 update for Nokia N9, Bids farewell to MeeGo team head
If you’re an eternal optimist and still hoping that MeeGo will make a comeback on Nokia, this bit of news will pretty much extinguish those remaining embers of hope for MeeGo. Head of the Nokia’s MeeGo development team, Sotiris Makrygiannis, has officially left Nokia, along with other members of the team. This casts an even darker cloud to the already uncertain future of the Nokia N9.
But before leaving Nokia, the hardworking MeeGo team did leave a good parting present for those of you who braved the odds and still bought a Nokia N9. PR1.3 is out now, offering up “over 1000 quality improvements, including Mail, Facebook, and Twitter, as well as several small network and connectivity improvements.” What these improvements are specifically, we don’t know. Heck, we don’t even know if PR1.3 is available already in the Philippines since none of us here at Technoodling HQ owns an N9.
As such, we’ll be relying on you, our dear followers out there who own a Nokia N9, to fill in the blanks for us – is the Nokia N9 PR1.3 update out now in our little neck of the woods? And if so and you’ve updated already, what new treats are you now enjoying on your N9 thanks to PR1.3?
Or, if you’ve got the time, you can visit this thread to check out what others have to say about PR1.3.
Don’t want to wait for the update notification and want to check manually but don’t know how?
It’s easy! Just head on to Settings, then Applications, tap on Manage Applications and finally choose the Updates tab. So, any luck?

I’m downloading the update now. The file size is 200.1 MB. I hope it is as smooth or better than the previous one.
Oops, the file size is 203.1 MB
I was fortunate enough to experience Meego and Windows as the OS for the Nokia phone. and if this PR update is like the one of Windows, then good work. It wasn’t as bad as people assume it to be. I’m secretly cheering for Nokia because… it was the phone brand of my childhood! hahaha
