It’s officially official, boys and girls! Apple is holding an iPad event on March 7, where they’re expected to finally announce the iPad 3, proving iMores sources correct once again.

Here’s a quick rundown of what the iPad 3 could have based on what we’ve heard so far:

• Quad-core processor
• Retina Display
• 5-megapixel/8-megapixel main cam
• LTE connectivity
• Juicier battery
• iOS 5.1 preinstalled

But more importantly, I guess what everyone’s interested to find out is what the newest iPad will look like, and unfortunately, we don’t have any leaks (yet) of the assembled device itself to whet your appetite.

Though judging from the image of the iPad used in the invite, it could be a Home button-less iPad. Or are my eyes just deceiving me?

Anyway, March 7 is just around the corner. We’ll know soon enough.
