An iPhone 4S case with a stylus holder. A novel idea that Taipei-based accessory manufacturer Ozaki ran with, coming up with the gorgeous looking iCoat Finger.
Ozaki does good packaging, and the one they have made for the iCoat Finger makes an already attractive-looking product even more exemplary. Very stylish and classy, the packaging is a no frills design which is easy to open. I like this type of packaging better compared to the finger-destroying, hard plastic blister types.
The iCoat Finger case is of the snap-on variety. Slip the iPhone 4S on it on one side first, then proceed to clip it down on the other side. Very simple. The iCoat Finger is made of plastic that’s accented with a glossy type of finish. The one I got is color red and boy, it is the loud sort of red! Very bright and eye catching. The case itself would have been pretty slim, if not for the stylus that’s docked at the back of the case.
The stylus itself is “kiddie” in size. It’s fat and short with soft rubbery end. I like how the stylus can be easily docked or removed yet it doesn’t come off on its own. In all honestly, I can appreciate the usefulness of a stylus on the iPad, the big screen lends itself well to note taking and doodling. On the small screen of the iPhone 4S, not so much I’m afraid. Of course with the popularity of applications like Draw Something and various note taking apps on the iPhone, I’m sure someone out there would find a need for a stylus for their iPhone 4S. It just so happens I’m not one of them.
Still, I have no problems with having a stylus for my iPhone. The bulge at the back, where the stylus is docked, of the Ozaki iCoat Finger is not really a bother. I’ve used the case and have not had any issues with it being to big or unwieldy. All in all, I like the iCoat Finger and I would have liked it a lot more if Ozaki came out with an option where they came out with an actual pen that can be docked at the back of the iCoat Finger.
If you find yourself with the need to use a stylus on your iPhone 4S, the Ozaki iCoat Finger is the no brainer choice. It’s an elegant solution to protecting your iPhone with a nice case where one can have a stylus as well.
