After the Xperia Play, Sony Ericsson’s two other new Xperia Android Gingerbread smartphones – the Xperia Ray and Xperia Active – are now likewise available in the Philippines.
The Xperia Ray sports a 3.3-inch Bravia-powered Reality display, an 8.1-megapixel rear-facing cam, a VGA camera on the front, a 1GHz processor with 512MB RAM under the hood, and comes bundled with a 4GB microSD card.
The Xperia Active, meanwhile, boasts of a 3-inch display, 5-megapixel AF camera ‘round the back, a secondary front-facing cam and, like the Ray, also runs on a 1GHz processor.
But what truly sets the Active apart from the rest of the Xperia fleet — and makes this a worthy buy — is that it is one of the few ‘droids around that’s dust proof and water resistant as well, making it perfect for those who like to rough it up in the great outdoors.
Or are just plain clumsy with their phones.
Price? SRP of the Xperia Ray is Php17,500 while the SRP of the Xperia Active stands at Php15,500. Not bad, right?
Priced just right, these two Xperia treats might just be the handsets that’ll give Sony Ericsson a fighting chance of returning into the mobile phone scene spotlight here in the Philippines.
