The biggest effect of Google Plus on me is that ever since it came out, I barely take time out to check my Twitter anymore. Before Google Plus, I was constantly checking tweets at every point of the day.
But what’s really weird is that it’s not as if I switched to Google Plus. I simply lost my appetite to check social media that frequently, period. So now I barely know what’s going on in both Twitter and Google Plus unless I am categorically reminded to check them out.
Is there a point to this? Maybe choice can actually alter addiction. Maybe choice has the power to break you out of a habit.
Or maybe there’s no point to this at all, and I just needed an excuse to get out of the Twitter addiction and Google Plus provided me with a convenient one.
