British newspaper The Sun is reporting that Queen Elizabeth II is the latest to fall victim to the Apple reality distortion field.
After having the iPad 2 demoed to her by her grandchildren, Princes Wills and Harry, the monarch apparently commanded her staff to go get her one of her very own. Why stand in line at Apple Regent St when you’re the regent?
The Sun quoted a royal insider who said: “The Queen hadn’t seen anything like the iPad before. She was very impressed.”
“She was particularly taken with how easy it was to use, the large screen and how light it was.”
“For a woman of her age, she is very switched on. It was only a matter of time before she asked someone to go and get her one.”
“The Princes think it is hilarious. They love the fact that their gran wants an iPad and think she’s really cool.”
I think it’s safe to assume she’ll be browsing wedding photos on it, just like any other doting grandmother. We’re also eagerly awaiting the release of her official royal Game Center username so we can challenge her to Doodle Jump.
DISCLAIMER: I slapped together this parody image in Pixelmator. No, she’s not really holding an iPad 2 and giving it a royal thumbs up.
