Question: Will Technoodling be doing a Globe LTE vs. Smart LTE review? Answer: YES!

It’s not really something we expected, but we’re happy that it’s going to happen. Ever since the announcement of LTE service by Smart and Globe, the whole Technoodling editorial team has been speculating as to how our two telcos will fare with their LTE data services. With the announcement of the upcoming iPhone 5, which supports LTE bands, we’re as excited as ever to see exactly how fast and reliable LTE here would be.

Well last Friday, while playing around with the idea of the possibility of doing a comparative review of Globe’s and Smart’s LTE network, we sent out an innocent little tweet that went a little something like this:

To our surprise; @SMARTcares didn’t waste anytime in sending out a reply:

Talk about bringing the smack down! Was @SMARTcares sending out a challenge to @enjoyGLOBE? After a few minutes however, things took an interesting turn when @ENJOYGLOBE replied to our tweet as well:

It was like a proverbial Clash of the Titans that’s waiting to happen! To say that we were excited is an understatement. We immediately fired off a couple more tweets to both @SMARTcares and @enjoyGlobe asking as to when we can do the tests. And these were the replies we got:

@SMARTcares appears ready and eager to take on the challenge anytime, anywhere. And @enjoyGLOBE is in the game as well.

So there you have it folks! We’ll definitely be following up on both @SMARTcares and @enjoyGLOBE for our LTE shootout! We’ll most likely do a review of Smart’s LTE network since some sites are already up and running, do a review of Globe’s LTE service once they’re ready, then we’ll be using both and do a side-by-side comparison. Stay tuned folks!

      Cool Cool Cool.

I’m definitely in the market for LTE service. I am actually thinking of replacing my DSL with LTE once the results are great. :)

Ask them for the SIM, and ask them for their best location. DON’T have them with you on the location. Just tell them you’ll just show up there and do your own tests using the same device. OR, ask them where they think they’re BOTH good or where they think their competition is worst/best. Then try it without telling them when!

i suggest you do it in a week long basis, different time of days, different parts of metro manila on both smart and globe, different device(USB Dongle and Smartphone) and anything possible. i believe this will dictate the updates and fixes they will do for their network that will benefit the end user/clients. Thanks
