The Incipio Executive Folio Case, made from premium leather, is an elegant if expensive case for iPad users who want to project a more business-like image.
I loved the smell of new leather that wafted out when I pulled the Incipio Premium Leather Executive Folio Case for the iPad out of the box it came in. The leather used is flat and smooth and nice to the touch, though it doesn’t have as much texture and character as, say, the leather used in Apple’s Smart Cover. The white stitching is a nice detail and gives the case some pizzazz.
The function is pretty straightforward: it’s just a leather envelope, with suede lining; no magnets, no fancy clasps, no extra-tough padding. It’s a simple, clean, minimalist way to carry your iPad around.
A “naked” iPad 2 fits perfectly inside the case. An iPad 2 with either a slim back case or a thick back sticker (such as the DODOcase BOOKback reviewed by Vic) will fit snugly. An iPad 2 with both a Smart Cover and a DODOcase Bookback sticker will fit very tightly in the Executive Folio case, and will also be a bit difficult to pull out.
I personally prefer the leather Smart Cover for minimal fuss and quick access to my iPad, but Incipio’s Premium Leather Executive Folio Case for the iPad will suit those who prefer to project a more business-like image and those who use bags that don’t have a dedicated pocket or compartment for the iPad.
