Yep, it appears the Galaxy S III isn’t so perfect after all, and the one major flaw it has, or at least some units have, is a pretty serious one.
But don’t worry, Samsung’s reportedly well aware of it and is working out a fix for it already.
They didn’t, however, go into details as to what exactly is causing a number of Galaxy S III units to just cease operating, but according to Tweakers, Samsung did reveal it’s a firmware bug and it only affects a very limited number of 16GB S III smartphones. As such, a simple firmware update is all that’s supposedly needed to fix fragile S III units out now.
How soon this update will be released, though, is anybody’s guess, but I sure wouldn’t be surprised if they’ve flagged this one as highly urgent.
