Samsung Galaxy Chat serves up Ice Cream Sandwich topped with a QWERTY keypad
Meet Sammy’s newest Android treat – the Samsung Galaxy Chat.
Its biggest come on will probably be its QWERTY keypad. In case you didn’t know, Android QWERTY smartphones are an endangered species. But that’s pretty much it for this new ‘droid.
Except for its Android version  (Ice Cream Sandwich), the rest of its specs are quite blah. There’s a 2-megapixel cam ‘round the back, a microSD card slot if the 4GB onboard storage isn’t enough, WiFi and Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity, and a modest 850MHz processor running under the hood. Workable, but it’s hardly smart enough to keep up with today’s crop of Ice Cream Sandwich smartphones.
No word on pricing yet, but don’t worry: given what it has to offer, I’m sure this won’t cost an arm and a leg to own.
As for Philippine availability, that’s one other crucial piece of the puzzle that’s missing now, but rest assured that we’ll keep you guys in the loop once we get more info on this new Samsung ‘droid.
In the meantime, you can check out the full press release to know more about the Galaxy Chat.
