Samsung: No Value Pack upgrade for Galaxy S

Will the Samsung Galaxy S be getting Ice Cream Sandwich or not?

First, it was a no.

Then came news that a Value Pack upgrade will be rolled out to bring some of the Ice Cream Sandwich treats over to the Galaxy S in lieu of an official ICS upgrade.

But now, it’s back to square one. It’s a no again, even for the value pack upgrade.

TNW relayed the bad news over on their site:

Rumours that have suggested Samsung is working on delivering an Android ‘Value Pack’ update for Galaxy S smartphones have been dealt a blow after The Next Web was informed that there are no plans for its release.

Not exactly the type of news Galaxy S owners were hoping to hear at the start of a brand new year, but hey, what can we say. If it’s not meant to be, it’s not meant to be.

I guess this only means one thing – it’s time to upgrade!
