So you rely on Skype to do face-to-face chats with remote pals and family. But what if the time difference between your countries won’t allow you to be online at the same time? You wouldn’t want to forego your beauty sleep — that would only lead to a face that you wouldn’t even want to put forward.
Well, thank goodness there’s now Skype Video Messages.
Skype Video Messages allows you to send video messages of up to three minutes long to your Skype buddies. This new treat is available to Skype iOS, Android and Mac users. Windows users will have to do a bit of waiting to enjoy this nifty feature, but don’t worry, it’s coming your way.
So, how come you can’t find Video Messages on your Skype iOS/Android app or Mac client?
Well, there’s a bit of fine print here – this will initially be available to US and UK Skype users only. So yeah, just like Windows users, we here in the Philippines are left out in the cold with this one.
But again, don’t worry. According to The Verge, Video Messages will soon be available to other countries soon. There’s just no concrete info on how soon it will exactly be.
But honestly, with all the options available now for VoIP/video messaging, does anyone still use Skype? Sound off if you do, and if you don’t, well, sound off as well.
