SMART hooks up Boracay with LTE, WiMax, HSPA+

Jetting off to Boracay used to mean leaving work behind. Emphasis on used to!

Now, heading off to Boracay is just work made more fun with the sun, sand, and sea (especially for bloggers like me).

WiFi hotspots are now everyone, and with HSPA+, LTE and WiMax all now live on the island paradise courtesy of SMART, connecting and staying online just got a whole lot easier this summer. And more importantly, easier on the pocket too ’cause all these are free of charge! FREE!

Lloyd Manaloto, head of SMART Boadband Internet and Data services, had this to say as to why they chose Boracay, of all places, to turn into a giant ‘hotzone’:

This our own little way of spreading the 4G excitement. Boracay is the birthplace of LTE in the Philippines and it is just right that we make this one-of-a-kind technology available in this one-of-a-kind destination.

Makes sense, right?

So if you’re headed to Boracay this summer, do check out the SMART-souped up WiFi hotspots and share stations located at Jonas restaurant beachfront, Boracay Peninsula hotel, Epic restaurant, Juice Bar, and Zuzuni hotel, just to name a few.

I know I am.
