SmartNet app now available at the App Store!

Time to fire up the App Store, iPhone users on SMART! The wait is finally over. The SmartNet app for iOS is now, at last, available for your downloading pleasure.

Here’s what the first release of the SmartNet iOS app has to offer as posted at the App Store:

  • Post to Facebook and Twitter in an instant
  • Comment and reply to Facebook posts and tweets
  • Like posts and retweet tweets
  • View what’s new as well as tips and advisories in Headlines
  • Find and add friends in the SmartNet Global directory

This is free, of course, but note: you do need to have at least iOS 5.0 installed for this to work.

Get it here.

I’m a Globe subscriber so I can’t really comment about this app, but if you’re on SMART and have already taken the SmartNet iOS app for a spin, then do feel free to chime in your thoughts below. We, and the rest of our readers, would certainly appreciate it.

Looking at the feature list, other apps can do the same. What’s the benefit and why would Smart release this app?

    • @Techie: Think of SmartNet as basically SMART’s social network for their subscribers. Here’s a brief description of what SmartNet is all about as posted on their site: “SmartNet is an online platform giving users access to communicate with friends not only within the SmartNet network but also to other social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter. It allows you to communicate to a broader network of friends!”

So while it may seem like some of the other apps out now in the App Store, this one’s the only that can hook you up to the SmartNet network.

      Hope this answers your question.
