It’s April already, so where the heck is the promised Ice Cream Sandwich update for the Xperia Arc S and company?
Well, that’s the bad news we’ve got for you arc-toters today. It seems that (obviously) Sony wasn’t able to meet its original ETA of late March. Nor can you expect it anytime over the next couple of weeks.
According to Sony, Ice Cream Sandwich won’t be out until at least mid-April.
But don’t worry Xperia arc S users (and neo V and Xperia ray users), you guys are still first in the long Sony Xperia waiting line.
After you, those who own the Xperia arc, Xperia PLAY, Xperia neo, Xperia mini, Xperia mini pro, Xperia pro, Xperia active, and Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman are next. When? End of May, or early June at the latest.
Oh, and one more thing – and this is important, guys – it won’t be an over-the-air update (OTA) update. In fact, you won’t even get a notification on your phone once the update’s available. ICS for these Xperia smartphones can only be installed via the PC Companion or Bridge for Mac.
So how will you know when ICS is out already?
You’ll have to keep your eyes and ears glued to Sony to find out it (Don’t worry, we’ll be doing that for you too).
