Say hello to the newest additions to Sony Mobile’s Xperia family – the Sony Xperia acro S and Sony Xperia go.
If the Sony Xperia acro S looks familiar, that’s because it’s none other than the leaked Sony Ericsson Nozomi of last year. And its design isn’t the only leak that’s spot on — so are its specs! As previously reported, this bad-ass ‘droid rocks a 1.5GHZ dual-core processor, a 4.3-inch touchscreen and, its claim to fame, a bangin’ 12-megapixel cam ‘round the back.
We also now know it comes pre-installed with Ice Cream Sandwich (the first of its kind from Sony Mobile), and – get this – is dust- and water-proof too!
The Sony Xperia go, meanwhile, sports a 3.5-inch touchscreen, a 5-megapixel AF cam with LED flash, a 1GHz dual-core processor under the hood and, just like the acro S, is also dust- and water-proof. However, unlike the acro S, this ‘droid only comes pre-installed with Gingerbread. It’s not as impressive as the acro S but, hopefully, Sony Mobile will more than make up for it in the pricing department.
Speaking of pricing, no word on that yet, but Sony Mobile did reveal both phones would become globally available in Q3 of 2012. So yeah, for now, it’s the waiting game for all of us.
