Sony Xperia T joins the ICS party with 13-megapixel cam in tow

Samsung aren’t the only ones bearing new treats at IFA 2012. Sony Mobile’s got their fair share of fresh goodies too, and first up is the Sony xperia T.

Specs-wise, it’s almost an identical twin of Sony Mobile’s current top-of-the-line Android, the Xperia ion. This too sports a big bad-ass 4.55-inch Bravia engine-powered display with a 1.5Ghz dual-core processor under the hood, 1GB of RAM, and the usual array of Bluetooth, WiFi, HSPA and NFC connectivity.

What’s improved here, though, is its camera, now 13-megapixels (up from 12-MP); onboard storage, now 16GB (up from 13.2GB); and OS, now rocking ICS out of the box, instead of just Gingerbread.

As for design, this new Xperia breaks from the mold of Sony Mobile’s more recent releases and takes a cue from one of last year’s more popular models, the Xperia arc S. Akin to the arc S, the Xperia T features an curved back design, something which will, no doubt, help differentiate this Xperia from the current Android pack.

ETA and price?

No info yet, but once this makes it to Philippine stores, this might debut as the Xperia TX. Name maybe different, but don’t worry, it’s one and the same as Sony’s new ‘droid.

For more on this, check it out at Sony Mobile’s website.
