Security, as far as mobile phones go back in the day, meant just keeping your phone from being stolen.
Today, itâ€™s more than that. Security on mobile phones is now almost akin to security on your PC, where malware are the leading culprits.
Now, can you guess which one among todayâ€™s four most popular mobile platforms â€“ iOS, BlackBerry, Android, Windows Phone â€“ is the most secure, and on the other end of the spectrum, which oneâ€™s the least secure?
If you guessed Android is the least, youâ€™re right on the money. In a survey done by Trend Micro with independent analysts, Android was adjudged as the least secure mobile OS, which really shouldnâ€™t come as a surprise given theyâ€™ve made it to the headlines more than a couple of times already because of malware problems.
Which oneâ€™s the most secure? iOS?
Close, but not quite. BlackBerryâ€™s the winner here, and just like Android, shouldn’t be much of a shocker given how RIM prides itself for its security.
Nonetheless, kudos still goes out to RIM for keeping BlackBerry secure amidst the rising threats.
Now, if only they could translate their success here to better sales…
