iPhone cases are definitely in abundance at the 2013 Consumer Electronics Show and the market has been getting more and more competitive as numerous new players pop-up each year to try and get a piece of the iPhone case business. Going into the Simplism booth (Simplism is a company based in Japan), the custom designed iPhone and iPad cases are really an eyeful. Leave it to the Japanese to create uniquely designed cases. But what really caught my eye were their new ultra thin iPhone case which were unbelievably, only 0.4 mm thick! Yep, you read that right, only 0.4 mm thick! Surprisingly, it wasn’t brittle as I thought it would be and it did exhibit a semi-flexible property which made it less fragile.
Simplism’s new ultra thin case may not have much to offer when it comes to bump and drop protection, but it will no doubt prevent a few unwanted scratches to your phone. Price and availability has yet to be announced, but I was told that the ultra thin case will definitely make its way to the Philippines since there’s an appointed distributor for Simplism in the Philippines.
