So, Technoodling is going on a hiatus. We’ve long wanted to overhaul TN — improve the quality of the photos and posts, go beyond merely reporting news and doing reviews, provoke a bit more thought and engagement from our readers. That partly explains why we were a bit cool toward our second Tatt Award nomination; we wanted to produce much better work, we knew we could do it, but just hadn’t gotten around to actually getting it done. We simply haven’t had the time and energy to do it: every writer and editor on the TN team has a day job, and everyone has become more and more busy the past year.
Instead of just plodding along, rewriting press releases and producing reviews on a deadline, we decided to just step back and take a collective breath, and put TN on a hiatus of sorts.
Does this mean TN will go down? No, the site will stay up and all posts will remain accessible. Will there be any new posts? Yes there will be, but we won’t be posting on a regular basis, and we won’t be writing much original material, for now. Allan and Irwin will continue blogging, on their own sites, and we will post links to their posts on TN. We’ll also be posting links to interesting stuff we find on the web and which we think TN readers will appreciate. And whenever another issue like the data cap or a bad online deal comes up, we’ll weigh in on it.
Thanks, everyone, for being a part of the TN community so far, and do stay tuned.
