Ok, this post is a day late because it took a while to get over both the adrenaline rush and lack of sleep, but here’s an attempt to say thanks for Technoodling’s win at the Globe Tatt Awards 2012.
It was an honor to be nominated along with tech blogging pioneers Yugatech, Pinoy Tech Blog, WebGeek.ph, and Unbox. And although we have no idea who nominated us, we’re grateful, and happy. And we’re ecstatic that we won. Thanks to everyone who voted for us, and cajoled their friends into voting for us, and cheered us on in many ways.
We were genuinely surprised to get an email from Globe telling us that we were among five finalists for Tech Junkie of the Year in the Globe Tatt Awards 2012. We didn’t even know who nominated us.
Whoever you are, thank you very much.
I would like to say that a lot of the credit goes, first of all, to the other finalists — Abe Olandres of Yugatech, Calvin Lo of Pinoy Tech Blog, John Arce of WebGeek, and Carlo Ople of Unbox — for their pioneering work in the local tech blogging scene. They blazed the trail, nurtured the online community of tech enthusiasts, and created a space where we could thrive. If not for them, we wouldn’t have even thought of launching Technoodling in the first place.
To everyone who contributed to making Technoodling what it is today — writers, editors, advertisers, web designers, and readers — this award really belongs to all of us. And for that reason it’s a good thing there’s no name on the trophy. This is a team win.
The last twenty months we’ve spent working on Technoodling have been some of the best months of our lives, and we look forward to doing this for a long, long time.
Again, our sincerest thanks.
