It’s here! It’s FINALLY here! iPhone 4S and iPad 2 owners who’ve long been yearning for an untethered jailbreak for iOS 5 to call their own can now rejoice! You’ve now got one.
Absinthe is the newest jailbreak in town, and it’s the much awaited iPhone 4S (and iPad 2) untethered jailbreak.
Two things you should know:
Yes, Windows (and Linux) users are once again left out in the cold on this one, but don’t worry, an Absinthe for you guys is in the works.
To download Absinthe and get your jailbreak hat on now, just head on over here (or here). It’s just a 9.9MB ZIP file so it should be a pretty quick download.
How do you use Absinthe? It’s pretty simple really.
Run Absinthe, hook up your iPhone 4S/iPad 2 to your Mac, click Jailbreak, run the Jailbreak/Absinthe app your iPhone 4S/iPad once prompted to, and when that’s done, fire up Cydia to finish everything up.
If the Jailbreak/Absinthe app displays an error message, just close – don’t forget to close it in the multitasking bar – Â and try again.
If that’s not clear enough, here’s a nifty tutorial vid to guide on how to jailbreak your iPhone 4S using Absinthe:
Happy jailbreak-ing guys!
UPDATE: Heard the first one didn’t work for some. Download Absinthe 0.2 here. They say this one’s much better.
Also, if you still haven’t heard, Absinthe for Windows is already available too. So there’s really no reason anymore why anyone can’t have a taste of the jailbroken-life.

Wala na po ba yung mga DFU mode? and what happens if I Jailbreak my current Jailbreak from 4.3.3, Will my jailbreak apps disappear po? how to retrace them if ever
Salamat!
Edit: Saw the whole video. I guess this the far most easiest Jailbreak ever is. The Bad thing is I dont have a MAc
Question! What if I already have a jailbroken iPad 2 running on iOS 4.3.3? Do I have to update it to iOS 5 first? If so, would that mean that I have to download and install the apps I got from Installous all over again? @___@
Thanks in advance!
Absinthe for Windows is now out.
@trelog: Thanks for the heads up
We’re actually cooking up a post on that right as we speak.
