The Mobile World Congress avalanche has begun.
And among the opening salvos fired is one from Sony, which has just expanded its Xperia line of Android smartphones with the grand reveal of the Xperia pro and the Xperia neo.
Yes they’re on Android 2.3 Gingerbread (or maybe 2.4, we don’t know yet). They also feature Mobile BRAVIA graphics engines and Sony’s Exmor R mobile sensor that allows for sharper, brighter photos and videos.
Xperia pro – Slide-out keyboard, fast messaging feature, Sony Mobile BRAVIA graphics engine, Exmor R, HDMI connector. Available in black, red and silver.
Xperia neo – Mobile BRAVIA graphics engine and Exmor R, HDMI connector. Available in blue, red and silver.
So when are these wonderful new toys coming out? Sony says the neo should hit the markets within the first quarter, while the pro hits markets within the second quarter.
