Updated Find My iPhone app discriminates against normal folk, prefer Devs only

Heads up, iPhone users! Time to NOT hit that update button!

Nope, that’s not typo there. Normally, we’d recommend you update your app to the latest version, but in the case of the new Find My iPhone app, we’re urging you to resist the temptation to do so.

Why, you ask?

Because by updating, you’ll lose the privilege of using the nifty features of this handy app, if <knock on wood> the need suddenly arises. That is, unless you’re a developer, ‘cause apparently, the latest Find My iPhone app now available for everyone’s downloadin’ pleasure is only meant for developers.

Once you download this release, it’ll install nicely without any hitches, but once you run it and try to log in, you’ll be met with an error message stating you need a developer account to use it.

As of this posting, Apple has announced they’ve fixed the said problem and it’s back to regular programming, but according to The Verge, some users are still having difficulty logging in.

Needless to say, staying clear of this Find My iPhone release is your best option if you want uninterrupted, stress-free use of this app for the time being.
